Career & Further Training
Accelerated basic qualification (truck & bus)
Anyone starting out as a professional driver in freight (truck) or passenger transport (bus) needs the basic qualification in addition to the driving licence. The accelerated variant comprises a 140-hour course followed by an IHK exam.
How it works
- 01
140-hour course (accelerated basic qualification)
- 02
Theory exam at the IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce)
- 03
Proof via key number 95 in the driving licence
Alternatives
Alternatively, you can enter the profession via the full basic qualification or a recognised vocational training (e.g. professional driver). We advise you on which path suits you – including funding through the Federal Employment Agency.
