The theory exam for class B doesn't take place at the driving school, but at an officially recognised testing organisation such as TÜV or DEKRA. Your driving school registers you for it as soon as your application has been processed by the licensing authority and you've completed the theory lessons.
On exam day, bring your ID card or passport and check in at reception. The actual exam takes place on a tablet: you answer 30 questions from the official question catalogue – a mix of basic content that applies to all classes, and additional content specific to class B. Depending on difficulty, each question carries 2, 3 or 5 error points.
You pass if you have collected at most 10 error points by the end. You generally have 45 minutes to answer all the questions – though most people finish considerably faster. You see the result immediately afterwards on the screen, and you receive an official exam certificate printed out shortly after.
The best preparation is practice: with the official question catalogue and a learning app you can train anytime on the questions you still find difficult. Repetition matters more here than memorising individual answers – especially with questions that include images or videos, it helps to really understand the context.
In our theory lessons we prepare you specifically for exactly this exam situation – twice daily in Heilbronn, once daily at our other branches. On top of that, you practise at your own pace with our learning app. That way you go into your theory exam relaxed and well prepared.
